What is Deepwood?
Deepwood is a non-profit museum and city park. The Friends of Deepwood was established in 1974 and manages the 1894 Queen Anne Victorian home and historic gardens.

What does it cost to visit?
Deepwood is a City of Salem public park and is generally accessible for FREE. The historic house on the grounds is open for guided tours Wed-Sat year round, with tour admission costs. For more information about our hours and pricing visit our Museum Home Tours page.

Is the house air conditioned?
No, true to the home’s era it is not air conditioned and does get warm during hot days.

Is the house wheelchair accessible?
The historic house does not meet ADA standards for wheelchair accessibility. The main entrance to the house is nine steps up from ground level and tours are conducted on the main and second floors of the museum. The gardens and grounds are wheelchair accessible with an ADA compliant restroom. Click here for more information on ADA Access.

Can I rent Deepwood for a wedding or special event?

Can I bring my dog to the park?
Deepwood is a City of Salem public park, so all municipal rules apply. You may bring your dog on a leash, and please bring bags to clean up after your pet. Click here for our Service Animal Policies.

Can I smoke at the park?
Effective August 22, 2015, smoking is prohibited in all City of Salem parks, including parking lots located on park property. The smoking ban includes e-cigarettes and marijuana or cannabis products.

Can I take pictures in the gardens/house?
