Grounds & Nature Area
Situated on five acres, Deepwood has much more to offer than just the Formal Gardens. The grounds also include open space, a greenhouse and a nature area with walking trails.
Yew Park
On the corner of 12th & Mission, just to the North of the Deepwood parking lot, is Yew Park. This open area is available to the community and contains picnic tables and beautiful trees and flowers. The Border Garden located along the fence line is generously maintained by the non-profit group, Deepwood Gardeners, who purchase and care for all the flowering plants. Swing by on your lunch break or for a morning stroll.
Greenhouse
Located next to the public restroom, directly off the parking lot, is the Greenhouse & Information Kiosk. The Greenhouse is maintained by the Deepwood Gardeners and contains a number of exotic plants. The Greenhouse is typically open from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Nature Area
Over half the property consists of a nature area that includes the Rita Steiner Fry Nature Trail. The trail leads to Pringle Creek which separates Deepwood from Bush Pasture Park. The nature area also includes a native garden. You can learn more about native plants at our annual Deepwood Plant Sale held in March.
